Most of us come across lots of stuff in our lives. some we ignore them and some gives us lesson which we learn and keep it for our lifetime knowledge.Most of us work very hard and spend time working hard to become rich and happy. Sometime it drives man away from all other things in life. Daily routine goes around selling basically.To be rich in life we need to learn how to perform a good selling done.If you look around a kid also does selling. If the kids wants something he/she would fine way to get it. Like crying complaining to a person who can help to get what they want. This doesn't mean you need to be only in salesperson or to have a sales jobs to be rich or to get money.
There are many other ways and options to earn money or be rich. Its just that we never realize how important is the skill of selling help us. for an example,we go to a doctor and we pay them money for their advice or check up. Basically he is selling his advice or the idea to stay healthy and fit. An engineering also sells their work to a client. A business man sells his idea of business or the product of his business to customers. So cutting short everybody is buying or selling on daily basis. If we need to have something we need to sell to get the new thing. If we want to buy a house we work hard to get the money, basically we are selling our time, effort or idea or anything which in turn returns the money or the financial requirement. So basically we need to be hard core good salesperson.
Once a friend of mine once told me if you are good at sales you can be anywhere and get any job you want. A good salesperson can sell a stone at a price of a diamond, and also he make a cake sound like a scoop of mud. There are number of books which can help you become a good salesperson one can get to read and know but if you don't apply the idea or the knowledge practically there is no point knowing them. First thing to be a good salesperson is to have a strong confidence, a confidence which says "I can sell anything". Without a strong confidence it is very hard to say a word sometime.Secondly one need to be a good communicator. The customer or the client should know what they are going to buy. If one fails to communicate then its impossible to do sales. If i don't know why i am buying and what possible benefit i would be getting from the product then it is a totally waste time and money.
Last but not the least and the most important one is handling rejection. No one on this earth would like rejection. All of us try to avoid rejection in our lives by any means possible. Facing rejection and learning from it without breaking down or sulking oneself is very important. Different people in this world will have different rejections and different reasons to give rejections. Once the fear of facing rejection has overcome then it would be pretty easy to do sales i believe. One can generate different tricks and different ways to do sales. Another quality required is one need to be a very good listener. if one doesn't know what a customer wants then he /she will have hard time selling. Easy way Know the client, know their requirement, choose proper word to say and display or put forward in such a way that it favors all their need and requires and fulfill them. If the customer wants to buy a TV and you try sell him a mobile phone then would be pretty ugly scenario.
Well these days we do have lots of gadgets which TV, video player,etc etc. but when the customer is so sure he wants to buy a TV then the effort to sell a mobile to him would be waste as well as time. After all time management is also very important. So learn from your mistakes and the rejection come forward with and answer to the queries which you couldn't clear before. We are the best teacher to ourselves. One way to learn fast is to have a mentor who is hard working as well as focus. Look around your colleague or senior or a manager who can help you with. It could be of any thing, product knowledge, rejection handling or time management. After all when a salesperson does his/her sales then only the whole hierarchy will go on. Actually sales job is the job in which you get the whole team or the higher authority depend on you and your sales number.
